The other main character in the story is of Amina who is not at all like Miriam. Although she belongs to the conventional Indian community based in South Africa, she likes to live her life as she wishes and nothing could stop her from doing what she wants to do. She runs her own cafe, which she has jointly opened with a colored man named Jacob.
As the story proceeds, both these women meet each other and everything around them starts to change. Although Miriam and Amina are of different natures, yet they get attracted towards each other and their worlds start turning upside down. The writer has beautifully described each and every character and situation of the story and has added a true life to it.
