Sometimes, life throws sudden and difficult challenges at us. A sudden injury like a fracture or some illness may tie us to a bed for days and sometimes even for months and we cannot do anything about it except taking it in our stride. The best way to handle these situations is by just letting the time pass and wait for the recovery. But more than the physical discomfort, these situations can be psychologically very difficult.
Lying in one place day in and day out is one of the most difficult things to do in life. Especially for an active person who is used to of roaming around the whole day, this can be the worst punishment possible. It is quiet ironic that when we are healthy and incredibly busy with our lives, we would kill for complete rest where we don’t have to do anything all day. As we all know, in order to recover from any injury or illness completely, a patient must be mentally fit. Remaining indoors can make a person feel very down and depressed and that can affect his speed of recovery. A good audio book helps a person in keeping his attitude positive and also distracts him from his discomfort.
